“There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story.”

- Linda Hogan

Outdoor Therapy

  • Outdoor therapy means working outdoors usually in nature rich environments. My experience is that eco psychotherapy or outdoor therapy is valuable and life-enhancing - with nature supporting our ability to self-reflect and connect to ourselves and others. And you don’t have to be fit to take part – we go at your pace and I work in accessible locations.

  • Research has shown that spending time in nature provides restorative benefits to physical and mental health, including: improved mood, stress reduction and enhanced cognitive abilities.

My Philosophy

I’m Ok You’re OK   my essential belief in the value, worth and decency of humans. With a humility that client’s are expert on themselves.

Ecological mindset - Deep appreciation and understanding at sub-symbolic, symbolic and verbal symbolic levels that we are just one part of the natural world(homonomy). An ecological mindset provides a fertile ecosystem for the rewilding of ourselves.

“Awareness means the capacity to see a coffeepot and hear the birds sing in one’s own way, and not the way one was taught. … Awareness requires living in the here and now, and not in the elsewhere, the past or the future. They know that after they die the trees will still be there, but they will not be there to look at them again, so they wants to see them now with as much poignancy as possible.”

- Eric Berne
